AMD Care was founded by a Registered Nurse and Midwife who placed the quality of care above else.

Led by a highly experienced Care Manager, the AMD Team’s collective experience ranges from working for many years in the NHS, Private Healthcare, as well as Overseas Nursing. They have a variety of skills which they share on a daily basis with all our care staff.

Karen Terry: Registered Care Manager

 

Karen Terry is the Manager of AMD Home Care. Karen joined AMD in March 2022, having worked at Crocus Care for almost a decade.

​

Karen's career in Care, started as a part time Support Worker, when a friend’s mother started her own care company.

​

After a progressing through to a Senior Carer role, she was encouraged by the manager to study for an NVQ Level 3, which I did and duly passed. Karen says, ‘having hated exams, this was a huge achievement for me.’

​

After a couple more years, her manager was looking to become semi-retired, and she supported her   progression to the Care Manager’s position. Karen was asked to do the NVQ5, which she passed and says ‘is one of my biggest work-based achievements to date.  I am now in the process of becoming the Registered Manager for AMD following Crocus’ merger with AMD.’

Karen is family oriented, and a lover of the Arsenal and dogs and you can often meet Charlie the Cocker Spaniel in the office. 

​

 

 

Helen Curtis: Office Manager

 

Meet Helen Curtis, AMD’s Office Manager. Helen has worked in the care sector for 9 years. 

​

Helen joined Crocus Care as an administrator, building up to Care Coordinator and then latterly as Office Manager. Helen moved to AMD when we merged with Crocus Care in March 2022.

​

Helen is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the service every day, including invoicing, payrolling, maintaining the rosters as well as providing wonderful care to our clients.

​

‘From a young age, care has been a huge part of my life, and I have seen first-hand just how positive and rewarding working in care can be.’

Theresa Bennett: Care Coordinator

​

Theresa, who has worked in care for 10 years, is one of AMD's longest standing team members, originally joining as a carer she quickly progressed into a senior carer and in 2021 became our Care Coordinator.

​

Alongside Helen, Theresa is also responsible for supporting the care team, the Registered Managers, and the wider office team, with a particular focus on managing the rotas, to ensure that the right people are in the right place at the right time. Theresa also takes our out of hours phone service. 

​

In her spare time, Theresa enjoys spending time with her family and her dogs. 

​

Theresa says, "My favourite part of home care is enabling our clients to stay in their own homes surrounded by the things they know and love and that no 2 days are ever the same"

Jemma Davies: Team Leader 

​

Jemma is another long-standing member of the AMD team who started her carer 5 years ago as a carer. Since then, Jemma has progressed to the Team Leader and taking the lead in the Live-in Care side of things here at AMD which includes overseeing the carers and clients to make sure everything runs smoothly, and regularly checking in on each client and carer. 

​

Jemma works alongside Karen, and is responsible for delivering spot checks, auditing medication and reports, care plans and providing care to our clients.

 

Jemma also loves dogs, having two of her own. She says 'My favourite part of being in the home care industry is knowing I am making a difference to people’s daily lives whilst keeping them safe and happy in their own homes'.

Jessica Curtis: Office Administrator

​

Jessica joined AMD in September 2021 on an apprenticeship programme as our Office Administrator.

 

​Jess is responsible for supporting the day-to-day administration in the AMD Office in Saffron Walden, helping with taking calls, helping with payroll, marketing and supporting our clients.

 

​Jess loves dogs and socialising and says, 'I am proud to be part of the AMD Care Team that provides excellent levels of care for our clients'.
