Meet the AMD Team!
AMD Care was founded Michele Dunn, a Registered Nurse and Midwife who places the quality of care above else.
Led by two highly experienced Care Managers, the AMD Team’s collective experience ranges from working for many years in the NHS, Private Healthcare, as well as Overseas Nursing. They have a variety of skills which they share on a daily basis with all our care staff.
Sharon Dunn: Registered Care Manager – Visiting Care
Sharon joined AMD Care in 2017, initially as Deputy Manager. Sharon has extensive experience in the health and social care field including working for local authorities, prisons, private care, not for profit organisations and hospitals.
Sharon has previously managed Family Support Services in the UK and in Australia with 37 volunteers and 6 family workers. She has managed Children’s Centres and worked as an ER Nurse.
Sharon has a degree in Psychology and is also an adult teacher and is passionate about caring for those less fortunate in society. Sharon says ‘My motivation comes from working with clients who need our help and who we can make a real difference for in their everyday lives. I also love to see the kindness within the team here at AMD and how we can provide real dignity in care and positive change.
‘We have built a lovely team of carers here at AMD, and I am so proud of the impact we have made in our clients and their families’ lives.’
Sharon has a love for travel and has worked in at least 4 countries that she has admitted to. In her spare time Sharon is a keen reader, a player of chess and enjoys research in her field of Psychology and Healthcare / Healthcare Management.
Annette Tidy: Registered Care Manager – Live-in Care
Annette has worked in Health & Social Care services for almost 20 years. During this time, she has supported individuals who are living with dementia, including individuals who have a learning disability & dementia.
Annette is very proud to have achieved her NVQ level 5 in Leadership & Management. She has also been awarded PTLLS (Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector). PTLLS enables Annette to support the AMD Team as a company trainer.
Previously Annette has worked as a team leader, unit manager, and a recruitment manager.
Annette says ‘Whilst working with the charity I supported two individuals at an official opening of the dementia service, the presentation was to The Princess Royal (Princess Anne) and 150 guests, the presentation theme was to explain what it is like to live within the service.
‘I feel very privileged & honoured to support those affected by ageing and those who are living with dementia, and have taken my direction from trainers and experts such as Penny Gaynor – The Contented Dementia Trust, Burford, Oxfordshire, and Dr Dan Nightingale – world renowned Clinical Dementia Specialist.’
In her spare time, she likes to cook, play golf, and grow her own vegetables.
Gareth Pitt: Deputy Manager - Visiting Care
Gareth moved to AMD Care in 2019 after a long career with Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire county council. Gareth has significant experience with Mental Health, Developmental Trauma and Safeguarding.
Gareth graduated from the University of Reading with a degree in Sociology and went on to achieve NVQs and Diploma’s in health and social care.
Gareth says 'I am proud to be part of the AMD Care Team that provide excellent levels of care for our clients'.
Emily Mumford: Senior Administrator
Emily’s first role in this sector was with Care at Home as an apprentice, where she studied for an NVQ level 2 in Administration and then moving into a full-time role.
Emily is now Senior Administrator for AMD Care, responsible for supporting the care team, the Registered Managers and the wider office team. Emily helps AMD tick!
Emily enjoys learning and developing new skills, along with working as part of a team. and I particularly enjoy talking to both clients and their families.
Abigail Blackburn: Care Coordinator
Abigail completed a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care at Sixth Form. She has done previous work experience within local nurseries and a children’s hospice.
Abigail also gained a Business and Administration NVQ level 2 and ICT level 2 when working for Care at Home in 2018 through an apprenticeship, before making the move over to AMD Care in October 2019.
Alongside Emily, Abigail is also responsible for supporting the care team, the Registered Managers and the wider office team, with a particular focus on Coordinating the Live-in Care team and also supporting our marketing and rotas.
In her spare time, Abigail enjoys traveling to new places and spending time with her family and friends.
